To The Top Of YouTube…

As many of you may know, I’ve been blogging a lot lately about YouTube. It’s a great opportunity for any aspiring marketer and is perfect for people beginning online. I know I’ve been managing to get some good cash rolling in lately and hopefully after having read my reports and blog posts, you should be well on your way too. However, in this post, I will focus on getting your YouTube videos to the top. One of the most asked questions on the internet related to YouTube. So, here we go…
How To Get Your Video To The Top
I’ll warn you now. You will not see instant results. Getting to the top takes time but if you follow what I say and promote your videos you should end up with some good YTSE (YouTube Search Engine) rankings.
1) Optimize your title
This is probably one of the most important parts yet the easiest to accomplish. By now, you should have already decided what keywords you will be targeting. So, the first step to creating a good title is to include your main keyword(s) (duh?). Try and keep your Keywords near the front.
E.g.
If your main keyword is Eminem and your secondary keywords are “The Way I Am” and “Live On MTV”.
“Watch New Song By Eminem” < “New Eminem Song - Way I Am” < “Eminem Live On MTV - The Way I Am”.
See? I’ve managed to include all my keywords keeping the most important ones near the front. This is important and you should aim to do this in all your videos. Why does this work? Well, currently, YouTube gives more “weight” to keywords that are near the front of the title therefore it should become second nature to do this for every video you upload.
2) Change Your File Name…
This is one that many marketers debate over. Some believe that if your file name includes your keyword, this will increase your chances of ranking high. Others don’t. I personally name my file with my keywords every time i upload a video as i do not see why i shouldn’t. Even if it doesn’t work, there’s no point missing an opportunity!
(when I say file name, I mean the name of the file you upload to YouTube. It cannot be seen by other members, but do it anyways.)
3) Create your tags…
YouTube gives uploaders the option to tag their videos. ALWAYS do this and tag your videos with their relative main and secondary keywords. Not only will this get your videos more exposure, it will also help your rankings.
4) Get People To Rank Your Video…
Encourage friends and family to vote on your videos and give them good rankings. The more votes you get, the higher you go! It may also be worth adding a message at the end of your video to encourage people to rank the video. All they need to do is click on the stars below. Most people will do it if they are reminded (as long as your video is good).
5) Link To YouTube Videos Using Your Keywords…
I actually learnt this method from John Reese and it has worked wonders for my rankings. What you need to do is make sure that whenever you add a link directing people to your YouTube video, you add your main keyword as anchor text.
E.g.
<a href=”http://www.youryoutubevideo.com”>Your Main Keyword</a>
Not only will this help you increase your rankings in YouTube but it has been known to produce some very good, high rankings on Google so it is well worthwhile doing.
6) “The lazy” Alternative
As always, someone’s automated the process. I’m not going to go into much detail, but I’ve managed to find a fairly “blackhat” tool which enables you to increase your rankings easily. The software ads as many comments as you want, ranks your video as many times as you want and favourites your video as many times as you want. Perfect for all you blackhat folk out there so I thought I might as well include a link!
Plain URL (if you don’t want to thank me): Click Here If You Hate Me
My affiliate URL (if you want to thank me at no extra cost: Click Here Please
I’m just kidding. It’s up to you how you want to buy but I do recommend this product. Have fun with the new info!
