Increase your opt-in rate by 0.2%

Here’s a really quick tip to help increase your opt-in rate. Most of you probably already do it but some of you don’t and right now it’s costing you a 0.2% loss of opt-ins. Big amount, I know!
Anyways, all you got to do is make sure that in all your opt-in boxes, the “Name” box is above the “Email” box.
Why? Simple, that’s what everyone is used to. Look everywhere on the internet and you’ll find opt-in boxes in this format. Why change? It just confuses people. A carried out a recent “test” on one of my sites and inverted the format of my email box. My opt-in rate dropped by 0.2%. People just aren’t used to it.
I actually encountered an example of this today. While on a site, I was prompted to enter my name and email. The boxes were the other way round. Not paying attention, like a robot, i entered my name and email in that order without thinking. I got taken straight to the “Your email address is incorrect” page Aweber produces when the info is wrong. I couldn’t be bothered to go back and enter it again so i just left.
You’ll only lose a tiny proportion (that one red guy) of opt-ins but it’s such a simple fix, you might as well change it!
